it's a bone stock 3.8 with 53k on it and has been down the track about 400 times(mostly 1/8 mile)it's been maintained well and engine oil and filter changed often. so if they do need to be changed then can a 16 year old change them?:p and about how long does this take? ohh, and the fastest times this car has gone is low 12's and has not been to 1/4 but only 4-5 times.

No, if you are not having any problems with them dont change them. A friend of mine had over 120K on his stock engine, and thought that he should rebuild it. Once he got inside of it, he said that it still looked like new. If you have the motor out of the car already, it would not hurt to pull the oil pan, and pull the main caps and look at their condition, but if the motor is not out, keep the oil clean and keep driving it.

Cut your oil filter open and look at the filter element to see if there is any copper colored metal flakes or speckles. There is no need to change engine bearings unless there is a problem.
