Does anyone make good stock style motor mounts anymore?

I have HR mounts and although they are awesome, they transmit a good amount of resonance / vibration into the car since I also have poly body mounts. I was going to go back to stock style mounts and a hold down for now since I rarely race my car, but it seems like Pioneer was the only brand that didn't make junk motor mounts and they are no longer made. I'm most likely going to just get the softest bushings HR has for mine since I have the red ones in it now, but I'm just curious if I have other options.

Thanks,

Mike

I wonder how much difference there is between HR's black vs red motor mounts.

I bought cheap autozone ones and put two 1/4-20 carriage bolts through the drivers side mount. Should work until I can afford HR mounts.

Just using a driver side hr black mount with a good stock passenger mount is pretty comfortable while still controlling the engine well as long as you are around 500rwhp or less. I bet it'd still work on a casual race car but mostly street 600rwhp car too, but I have no experience with just one in that arena.

If Federal Mogul mounts aren't expensive, there's a good chance they're good

Beefing up a normal one is an option I guess. I had a set of good stock ones that I threw out when I got the hr's. I regret that. I miss the "Buickness" of my car. On the other hand, I don't miss the dp clearance issues that go with the stock mounts.

I have a set of Parts place store brand mounts in the garage if anyone wants them.o They're pretty soft

Hmmm, took off each HR mount too look at them. They both say "soft 70" on them, but the drivers side has red bushings that are stiffer than the pass side. I may put the black 70's in the drivers side, put a stock mount on the pass side, and see what happens. I called Paul at HR and he was willing to swap them for me, but I was actually able to take these apart on my own.

Just an update. Totally forgot about this thread. Anyway, I was able to get the HR mounts apart. I put the 70's on the DS mount and put a stock passenger mount on. No clearance issues for me and it made a nice difference. The biggest thing is the resonance that was drowning out any low frequencies from my stereo is gone. Here's another funny thing. Last night I took my subwoofer box out since I am going to try something else. All of a sudden the car almost feels / sounds like stock inside. Really odd. Like whatever vibration coming up the floor was transmitting to the rest of the car from the sub box. Keep in mind my sub box fit very snugly into the front portion of the trunk. I may shorten it a little to make sure it does not touch the top. I'll also look again and make sure the weight was not making the exhaust touch the control arm or something like that.
