I know, call Lou himself... BUT it is 2am and I keep forgetting about it during the day, lol!

I have a 1987 GN, beotch feels slow (but I come from LS1s) so I put a FP gauge and Knock gauge on it. FP idles at 50, peaks to around 70 at WOT (car has upgraded pump, 42# injectors and AFPR).

AND... it has Knock :( At WOT it ranges from Green to Red (I have the Casper gauge, going to get Scanmaster on next paycheck) depending on the mood she is in.

I was stock piling parts to take down there (I have a 4" inter cooler, better CAI and am getting an Alky kit) since it is so far (I just want to only make one trip, at least for awhile ;)) but don't want to wait if it is knocking.

I'm sure my tune is for 93 East coast and probably the problem but I feel weird just getting a mail order chip, want someone who dyno and street tunes the burn (is that even possible with these chips? again, I come from LS1s..). Does Lou (or anyone else) burn chips on site to the car? Thanks!

Also, big thanks to TNTSNBS (I think that's it) to giving me a Turbo Buick's 101 class at the Cool Car Show :)

Mark:
Yes, you really should call Lou.
Yes, Lou tunes and is one of the best, if not the best tuner in SoCal. He can, or at least could a few years back, burn chips to match the requirements of cars. I'm sure that Lou can answer all of your queries much better than we can.
Turbolou is also a supporting / paying TB.Com supplier / vendor.
Now if you meant "Can Lou carry a tune? Heavens no. If you meant hum a tune, no on that query also.
IMHO, FWIW, & HTH
BTW, it sounds like you will in time eat a head gasket without getting that car straightened out tuning & chip wise.

The definition tune can mean many things. In order for the car to perform correctly many things must come into play. Correct injectors, chip, alky injection, fuel pressure, boost ,timing, fuel map, solid ignition system, sound engine, correct turbo, inter cooler, etc. to name a few, The point is all the pieces have to be correct & in harmony with one another. If there is such a thing as secrets here that would be it. The short answer is to call me 949-378-1590 Regards Lou

Tee hee....
Get that GN set up right....and your LS buddies are gonna need much bigger bottles to keep up with you....:D

Yes....call Lou....he will take very good care of you and will help you save a lot of $ by making sure you only throw money at the right parts...the ones you actually need....for your goals.

Oh....and at 50psi your fuel pressure at idle is too high...assuming the gauge is reading accurately....might be part of your problem.
