Hey guys, I got this sensor on ebay, and I'm curious if this really is a GM 3 bar map sensor? I've looked up pictures on the internet, and most of them do not look like this, but I did find an example that did. What do you guys think?
Is there a way to tell for sure visually, or maybe some way of rigging this up to check if it can read over 14.7psi?

And at the risk of sounding like an idiot, I have no idea how to post a pic in a a thread! Can anyone clue me in on this?

It has "1008H28" on the side of it. Aside, from that, I can't find any numbers inscribed anywhere on it except for the normac A B an C marking the terminals.

Not looking good, the 3 bar MAP I just got from Razor's Alky kit says 1008G23, hope that helps.

hook it up in your car , key on - motor off.. it should show 1.6v center pin if its a 3bar

No nothing, just the "1008H28" inked in the side, other than that, is is blank.
Pacecarta, If I get time tonight I will measure the voltage on the center pin tonight in my car, if this is a for sure way of knowing it is a 3 bar.

Thanks for the responses guys, anybody else who wants to chip in is more than welcome!

yes

input voltage is approx 5v
1 bar = 1 atmosphere = 14.5 psi (vacuum or pressure doesn't matter )

if its a one bar map used on NA applications its range is 1 bar and thats vacuum only since atmosphere is already at 14.5psi which we see as 0psi on gauges
so key on eng off it will be almost 5v , will show 0v at 14.5 psi vacuum

if its a 2bar (stock gn) its operating range is as name implies ... 2 bars ...... 1 bar vacuum to 1 bar pressure or 14.5psi vac to 14.5 pressure
14.5 vac = 0V
0psi = 2.4V
14.5 psi pressure =5V ,
voltage will be 2.4at 0psi it will be in the middle of

if its a 3 bar the sensor range is 3 bars
so 14.5 psi vac = 0v
0psi = 1.6v
14.5psi = 3.4v
29 psi =4.9v
