my pressures in my tranny are like this
Min / MAX
75 -- D --- 200-215
120-- R --- 180-185
75 -- N -- 200-220
75-- D4 --- 180-200
75 -- D3 --- 180-200
225-- D2 -- 150-175
225 -- D1 -- 150-175

So i pulled the pr set up & set it next to a stock pr set up & i noticed
1)the pr valve is grinded on the top middle notch, also the very tip is a hair from being grounded flush (good or bad?purpose?)
2)my spring is a little shorter
3)reverse valve is slightly wider with an extended bushing
4)a little more gapped wider tv boost valve
I have no idea what # or set up this is, tranny has an excellent 1-2 shift.
with a stg 2 shift kit but it flares on the 2nd-3rd shift. I already have a tranny on the way from a vender, just wondering if i could get a different pump set up or try to get this one figured out and put it on a back burner/back up tranny. Its been freshened up-- just not right. And no he did not dual feed the directs, i'll look into that next. it also has billet internals thanx for any info.

Pressures not looking good Ray. I believe you should be seeing 240 or so max. That is prob the cause of the 2/3 flair.

Thanks Doug, my brother is talkin about going to the track tonight i gotta sit home until my trannys back.:frown:

Someone suggested it was a pump issue & to get a complete one from CK. I dont mind buying that if I knew for sure thats what is was. Looks like im gonna have to bite the bullet & buy it anyway. As im in no hurry i would like to have a spare though just in case & figured this would be a good project for me. Since i have the tranny dropped & out already.

Neeko's tranny is actin up on his too--- he went 8.0 in the 1/8th at 87 mph he said it never came out of 1st gear when he saw it wouldnt change to 2nd he got out of it , with a 1.5xx 60ft.

The rev boost valve in the bottom of the pic looks smaller than the one above it. What size are the larger valves? I havent found it necessary to remove the land on the valve.

Who built your trans?

Freds Turbo Performance in Hahira.(built both mine & my brother's trans)

yes the one in the bottom is out of a stock tranny that i pulled for reference.
i dont know what size or how to measure it i have a mic.(i guess i measure the width)

I also dont know why the land was grinded off or know the purpose i guess every tranny builder have their secrets, i was thinking of putting the stock pressure regulator valve in place of the grounded off one & see what happens. but i know in the end i will buy a pump from Chris before its over with.(both valves have the hole in the center of it.)

Yup........several times on the phone, one visit, he's an excellent mechanic, excellent customer support, he's bent over backwards on somethings for me, its just that im just not satisfied with these transmissions & im trying to progress forward, not backward. we've invested too much money & time in what we have now, so we just move on. brother was talking about selling his car he got so frustrated (he spent more $$ than i did) i talked him out of it.... I think the new tranny will work out for me though, if not, i may sell mine:eek: .

What about the warranty? I know he gives one.

What about the warranty? I know he gives one.

Warranty was 1 yr. but if any parts inside failed we had to replace but the labor on it was free. Neeko had to pay $350 again for clutches on supposedly a bullet proof rebuild that he didnt even get a 3000 mile oil change out of his engine before his 1-2 started flaring. He took the car back checked everything out said he needed new clutches said he himself must have messed up on a clearance issue so the labor of pulling it out and putting it back in and fixing it ,was no charge. which is pretty good but he still had to pay for the clutches, even though it wasnt Neeko's fault:confused: WE should have gotten the warranty circumstances or agreement more clearer. but anyway Neeko figured he could fix it . Loaded it up for an 1hr 1/2 drive one way a $100 in gas on the dually diesel & let him keep the car for a while, added a t brake, hardened drum & input shaft, got the car back it worked fine for about 2 weeks then it started doing the same thing again. so now the car is parked again after the other night. he's pretty upset hes gonna wait & see how my tranny turns out from the vender i ordered one from & go from there, but i dont believe hes going back in the other direction...warranty or not. but enough on this as im not gonna post anything else about this, im tryin to rectify my pressure & flair problem.

i think im gonna order a pump for my tranny i took out to see if that helps the pressures if not i may have to try another valve body also, if i do that i know i'll dual feed it then. If that doesnt get it i'll send it in to a vender to go through the whole thing again.$$$$$ if that doesnt work im sellin BOTH OUR cars!

Unless

The wire dia. is larger (PR Spring) on your high pressure setup. That spring appears to be weaker than the stock one.

Yikes:eek: so do i get a whole new different pr set up($100 or so) or just go ahead & get the pump with everything modified & everything installed with Chris's pump($250 ish)?

That is a crap azz warranty there. I could see if you broke some hard parts but the 2/3 flairs and pressures are low but you have to pay $350 in parts to fix it......

Does it have a deep pan?

If it has any type of performance servo, a 1-2 flair shouldn't be a problem. An overall pressure issue will usually show up as a 2-3 flair first.

If it has a stock pan, it will keep burning up frictions until you get a better pan and pickup.

I have one now for mine. Gotta convince my brother though  He's tired of spending money in his car. I am too im just too stupid to stop.......

The new Lonnie Diers trans is working great! Made his quickest pass ever and got air under the frt tires!

That's strange, im having the same problem with my trans, and Fred did mine also. I was waiting for parts from him, but never got them that's been 6 months ago. I have to lift off of it to shift from 2-3, and i know the TV cable is sticking. Good luck, i may have to try something diffrent, let me know how the new vendor works out.
