Does this sound like a good price for a posi?

Local performance shop shot me quote of $725 for a new Eaton posi unit, bearings, synthetic lube, ARP fastners, and a TA girdled rear cover with drain/fill plugs. This includes installation and a 2 yr warranty on parts/labor. They will re-use ring and pinion and axles if at all possible. Is there anything I should be aware of while I have this apart?

Lets see here on TB I see an add for EATON posi at $329 & install kit is like $75, Shipping ?? Lets say $25. SUB TOTAL$429.
Sounds like they are charging you $300 labor.. AT $50 an hour
that would be a 6 hour install...

I will say they are about $100 to $125 overcharging you.

But GET that warranty in writing.

they did say that it would be 6-7 hours to install. But also, that eaton for $329 doesn't come with the $160 TA girdle/cover, so it looks like it might work out ok. Thanks for the input!

I do these swaps all the time. It takes about 25 mins( taking my time) to take it apart and about 40 mins to set up the gears correctly and press the bearings. I have done many and have it down pat. We charge 120.00 labor for the job ( 2 hours labor) as thats what It pays flat rate.
