There must be an excellent site. I used Napster a couple years ago and it was excellent for me at that time. What place can I go to on the web for more music downloads? Probly gotta pay & that's ok. What's everyone using??? Thanks, Dave

iMesh. I have the spyware free version and it's by far the fastest I've EVER used. Beats WinMx hands down.

Last I heard Kazaa was FULL of spyware, don't know about iMesh. WINMX is free of spyware and works well.

I just went to that Kazaalite webpage....I was super attacked by casino ads. So many in fact I had to turn off my puter to get rid of them.

And I immediately ran my spyware program upon re-booting and found 6 new cookies. Last time I ran the spyware was this morning so I'm not positive how many, if any, tracker cookies came directly from Kazaalite.

There are newsgroups that have MP3s also. Gets kinda technical, but with good virus software you should be safe and happy.

Next questions you want to ask is, what is a newsgroup and does my ISP support them?

Don't want popups??...do this: Change your browser security levels and disable Active Scripting. No more pop-ups.

Whoa....I never knew it was that easy.

I changed my security level to it's highest and disabled
"Script Active-X controls marked safe for Scripting"

Hopefully that is what you meant and it helps.

Thanks

another way to rid pop-ups.

goto techtv.com

search for free surfer best pop-up killer i have ever used and it's free to boot:D

I've tried the pop-up killers too, they work but not as well as simply disabling them in the browser via the security settings.

How to do it exactly is outlined here with Internet Explorer:

Double click on globe icon lower right area of browser, this brings up INTERNET SECURITY PROPERTIES.

Globe should be highlighted labled INTERNET, select button that says CUSTOM LEVEL.

There's a list of security settings. Find SCRIPTING [ACTIVE SCRIPTING] then select DISABLE.

You can also set cookie settings in there. For sites (like this one) I make it a "TRUSTED SITE" which allows all cookies and active scripting. To make a site "TRUSTED" get into INTERNET SECURITY PROPERTIES as outlined above, then instead of the GLOBE you select "TRUSTED SITES". Put the URL of a trusted website in there and the browser will accept all cookies and run normally on those sites.

If you have Netscape I can't help....I don't use it.

HTH....

I use WinMX, winmx.com Its great, just download, and have your connection to the internet active and fire it off. What it does it you create a folder that is your "shared" folder, all of your downloaded music goes there, and when you do a search, it is basically searching everyone elses "shared" folder for your matches that are on the net at that time. Their is no "web site" that you have to go to with a browser so you don't have to worry about any spyware or pop ups. Its great because you can create multiple searchs simultaneously, if the connection is dropped, it will auto connect back when the connection is brought back up and continue where it left off. Very easy interface, allows for sorting of matches by file size, alpha order, or bps rate etc...
Has easy to read status bars showing how much of each song has been downloaded, you can also controll the bandwidth and how many songs can be downloaded at same time in and out.

I'm not that active on the "web". Only turbobuick.com. What is spyware? I know, Where has this guy been?? Thanks

Spyware is embedded software inside other software (such as Kazaa). The agreement is there for it's use during installation inside all that "legaleeze" and when you hit YES to continue installation. It tracks your internet habits and reports back to "mother ship" about what you're up to. BAD NEWS!!....

Go to ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS or simply do a search of your HDD for keywords and delete all hits on "gator" or "bonzi".

You could also search your registry for those keywords and dump hits in there, but you have to know what you're doing in there or you could really mess up your machine.

there's a program called spybot search and deystroy,do a search on google to find it.

Most of that stuff hides on your hard drive,This finds it and kills it.
