Would like some input for those who have a one piece Terry Houston stlye downpipe.
My car has a TA-49 w/ stock elbow to a 3" downpipe.Besides the larger puck in the TH style,is there significant power gains to be had because of the smooth three inch radius bend vs. the hard turn having to be made w/ the stock elbow? Also to mention,I do get the "boost creep" at the high end of the track,so also looking into the RJC boost controller.

Yes, you will gain more power with a wide sweeping 3" bend over the stock elbow but you will need upgraded exhaust also to realize it's full potential.

To save you tons of money just have your original elbow modified for a fenderwell dump. No need to buy a downpipe and you can keep your factory exhaust pipes and muffler!

To reduce boost creep with your current set up you can radius the inside of the wastegate hole in your Turbine housing.

Many times these are a square sided hole machined into the housing.

Remove the square sides (on the inside, only!) and the same diameter hole will flow much more air.

I compared a THDP to a Stock Elbow/2.5 in downpipe at Bristol in 2001.

I did 6 runs with the stock elbow and six with the THDP and averaged the top 3 runs.

The THDP was only .05 seconds, but 1.5 mph faster in the 11.7 - 11.8 @ 114 -116 range.

Most of the gains from the THDP was above 4.8 - 5K RPM charging through the lights as the 1/8 miles were virtually identical.
