Test drove a '86 GN yesterday that I'm thinking of buying. Has a fresh rebuilt BRF with billet internals. Shifts smooth going up, but when coming to a stop, it stays in 2nd. Have to go to neutral and then back to drive to get it to shift into 1st. Is it as simple as something out of adjustment or something worse like a bad rebuild? My previous (and limited) tranny exposure is TH-350 and 400s. First time Buick

Yeah, Burlington is about 30 minutes. Who is Richard Clark?

EDIT (Okay, googled him....I see now :D)

He WILL help you.Great guy.

Great is an understatement. Richard spent the entire day with me today, disassembling the Valve Body of the tranny and checking all the specs. We found some very interesting things....Until I have some more information as to who, what and when, I'm not going to jump to conclusions, but there were a couple of unexpected surprises.

Again, thanks to Richard publically for the time and effort spent today. I learned more about these transmissions today than I could have in a month of reading.

Oh, and forgot the most important part. Richard worked his magic and the Tranny is working wonderfully!

It was nice meeting him yesterday. Richard is a super cool guy. Oh Robert double check those trans pan bolts and your 3rd brake light is out :D
