Hi everyone,
Like the title says, I'm looking for used suspension components to save a little money. i'd like to get some control arms, shocks, springs, etc.

let me know what you have!

First you need to know what you need. How fast are you looking to go. Basic parts go very far.

For now, i'd be satisfied with mid-low 10's, or at the very least a sub 7 second 1/8th, but i'm never satisfied for long with the current performance of my car, which led to my downfall with the Nova. I wanted a moderately quick (11 second) street car and ended up with an undependable 9 second track car with no safety equipment in it. I want to take it slow this time around and plan my build, but i would rather over do things in the suspension and brakes department than under do it.

I have some upper control arms for sale.... inherited in a car deal I just did. most anything decently made will take you deep into the 10's.

$125 shipped

they are UMI's version, but I found a few sets on eBay for $129+ free shipping.

Those air bags have seen better days.

your getting into that undependable area

sub 7 second 1/8ths will render the car undependable?! i really hope not! i was hoping the fuel injection and turbocharging would help things out. I turned down a turbo LSx car for this!! :(

I'm sure Mr Spool is referring to the need for everything to working perfect from tune to heavy duty parts. As you start making more power you will find the weak links. Sometimes a weak link failure can be catastrophic. Because of your newness to the TB your biggest issue will be understanding the tune, probably the number 1 engine failure cause. Next is fueling issues. You need to have those in perfect shape or you can in short order have expensive repairs. Before you start shooting for those numbers I suggest fixing the items that need repair and just driving the car. Learn as much as you can here and other sites you have been directed too. Then make a plan that will build a reliable 10 second car.

If you want 10's all day, then you need to build the car as if you were going for low 9's, and it will survive. Your engine is ok but it would be a good 11 second engine to keep it reliable. The tranny needs quite a bit more work if you want to always run 10's. If you only want to kiss the 10's once in a while then you should be fine, but these engines can be grenades with just a minor mistake, and sometimes everything can be perfect and still grenade. bison did a car a while ago that was a stock lower end and it did low 10's beautifully, until one of the pistons cracked. If you want to build the car to what you want, then write everything down first, gather the parts you need within your budget, and build the car you want. Doing it piece meal will cost more and aggravate you to the point of getting out of it.
