Nope. Does it involve high speed racing while intoxicated on drugs? :p

High school rivalries kick into overdrive as auto shop students turn a regular car into a drag race champion. This ain’t your daddy’s shop class! Students from rival Tennessee high schools strip their new rides down and turn them into a contender. Talking smack only gets you so far when your school’s reputation is on the line. Who’s got what it takes and who’s left behind?

Sounds kinda cool.

Last night episode was long and boring. Too much talking going on... I mean they were the kids getting bored as the teacher were speaking so I follow suit and felt asleep with them...:) Anyhow, I guess that was to get the story line going and hopefully they get to show more of building the car, racing it, etc.

I agree it was kinda lame. First show tho so maybe it will improve once the car progresses. They say that they are shooting for 700 hp.

I would have liked to see that the HS kids were actually going to race the cars vs. a professional driver.

I'm sure one of the HS students in the class is atleast 16 years of age. Maybe in Tenn you need to be 18 to operate a car but a doubt it. It's a race car anyway.

Watched about 15 seconds of the show and that was it!! Watching my grass grow was more entertaining.

i shut it down cause it was bed time, was slow going but the big picture is

Getting these kids involved is the future of the sport, like hunting and fishing, Most of the outdoors shows and alot of tackle shops etc here in Mich shut down because kids were too busy on myspace.

Maybe in the next few shows there will be some drama to keep everyone entertained like the one kid running the 4inch cutoff wheel with a Hawaiian shirt, cheap safety glasses and no gloves, perhaps one spark will catch him on fire, another will bounce behind his glasses into his eyeball and they will get it on film as he's running wild across campus...

Now that would make great TV right?!!!!!

doesnt look bad. I wish my school did something like this back in the day. this is a good thing for students to learn the basics and stay away from drugs.

I saw the show, it's average...I like anything that has kids doing something other than wearing their pants hanging around their butts and being )icks and 5hit asses. Or being overly dramatic over what brand of soda they drink.
I was actually at Beach bend (Bowling Green Ky.) for what I think was the Finale, I'm guessing based on previews and passing clips. I didn't mean to be there for it, I was there to run my ride...Like everyone else, we kinda got pissy cuz, it slowed the flow of street cars getting to run. I guess the ones in the class that want to be there will benefit from it. It is kinda of a boring show. they should have focused on MANY schools and the "end result" for single episodes instead of following these HillBillys (I can say that cause I'm from there/here) throught he whole boring process. Ya know speed it up with many schools competing across the country.

I like the show but it seems a very half way approached from the speed production side. For example let the kids race the cars, give the money to the schools, pick the cars for them. By laying down the rules more in the end the race will be tighter and more exciting. I would just pick a year model of the car like 1987, school A has the coolest IROC ever againist the slow Buick GN. Then during the buildup you have experts come in and advise on what could be done. Like here's Cal Hartline and has 10 second GN. You take the kids to the track let them watch him he gives pointers.

I think that the monza will waste the mustang.

I agree--some other ideas could have been used!

I think the show is a cool concept, I would have loved an opportunity like this when i was going to school!
