Driver side defrost vent

Ok here it goes... working on the ride today and at the very end of screwing the dash pad back on I dropped one of those tiny ass screws down the defrost vent. Tried my small telescope magnet with no luck. Any tips or tricks to retrieve it would be great.

find a different screw... it's gone... let it go...

Let it go.... I already did that by accident.....it's gone ..... No it's not, it's still in there. Find a different screw .... Why? that one would work fine. Don't worry I'll get it but thanks anyway.

Had to do this with some house plumbing. I had a strong magnet shaped like a washer like below:

Tied some strong fishing line to it and went fishing for the screw.

^^ Neat idea. I'll bet that when you go fishing you'll pull up more than one lost screw! It's a very tight spot that is not condusive to working on. If only the windshield could be removed...
