Is there a permanent fix for the cracked manifold?

Mine has again cracked & I hesitate to continue a repair that's only temporary.

Are any of the aftermarket manifolds worth the trouble? Am I stuck again with the r&r & wait anothe ryear for a repeat?

TIA

Roger

I replaced mine with a repaired one from Jack Cotton. Seems like I might have spent $100, don't remember for sure, though. It was an exchange deal, I sent him mine, and got back the core charge, whatever that was. There are certainly shops in Fla that can fix yours, though. Just a matter of welding it and maybe adding a little reinforcement. Some shops like to drill a little hole at each end of the existing crack, to make sure it doesn't grow back, but that's up to the welder.

I repaired one for a buddy of mine...

Ground the crack, welded it all the way around, then welded a gusset to it...
I doubt it will ever crack again...:p

Anyone using the ATR piece that I have heard about recently? Supposed to eliminate that cracking syndrome

I have a repaired set for sale. Never cracked but was welded anyway. I've had it this way for 4 years. No problems. Just took them off for a coated set of ATR headers.
PM me if interested

About 3 years and 30k miles ago, I had a buddy weld mine. He's not a pro, and the crack was almost all the way around (~75%). So far so good.

Kendall Fredirick is in your neck of the woods. I bet he'll do it right.

****I've had the ATR replacement on my car for several years with no problems. I got sick of repairing the original header, and replaced it with the ATR, and a new crossover pipe at the same time. It cured my very high BLM problem and improved my gas mileage noticeably.

Good luck

Header cracks

Sorry, I don't mean to change the subject but does the header crack even though the car is just street driven (not raced) or after a certain amount of mileage is accumulated?
Reason I am asking is I still have the original header and it has not cracked yet. I guess it's just a matter of time? Thank you for any additional info on this issue. :)

Header seems to crack after about 3 - 4 years or 10 - 20k miles, mostly "granny" driving with occasional ful throttle runs (had a pesky Rustang stay with me the other day - need to get the alcohol hooked up).
