So with the Mark williams yolk , 3" driveshaft and solid spicer joints, what am I looking at ball park figure? Around $300-400? thanks Don!

I'm not sure what the latest price on the yoke is. The one I bought was a little over 200. I really don't remember what it cost to have the 3" driveshaft made. Call Todd to get that.

Strange also makes driveshafts balanced with your choice yolks ready to install. I want to say they were 350.00 + upgraded yolk. they are chrome moly shafts

Yes. I recall seeing one of their yokes on display at their booth at a NHRA event. I believe they are a little less than the Mark Williams. Don't know what the strength comparison is. I do have to say that the Williams piece looks like a much better crafted piece. Where the Williams is a billet piece, the Strange is cast, much like what you'd expect a Spicer yoke to be. Is it a repackaged Spicer? Don't know.

Don,

Just so I'm understanding what you're putting down; As the driveline articulates through it's range of motion the driveshaft moves into and out of the tail housing of the trans. This being said if the splines on either the O.D. of the output shaft or I.D. of the yolk are twisted or damaged that this can put abnormal loads on the thrust washer or needle thrust bearing in the trans causing premature failure right? Sounds sensible to me.

Neal

A sticking yoke spline can take out a rear unit thrust washer or worse, a needle thrust bearing in the transmission. The thrust washers and needle bearings weren't designed to take forward pounding of the output shaft. Not to mention the load on other thrust washers and needle thrust bearings from the rearward pull of the output shaft from the sticking spline.

Quick question, Im ordering axles right now and looking at getting Moser 30 spline to go with the Eaton Posi I just ordered. Since stock axels are 28 spline, its kinda confusing trying to order 30 splines for the car cause none say they will fit the 87 Buick GN. Does anyone have a link to a site that has them?
Will any of these fit?

eBay Motors: Moser A103003 Axles 30-Spline Rear Chevy Chevelle 8.5 (item 220199530406 end time Mar-06-08 22:33:57 PST)

eBay Motors: Moser A123003 Axles 30-Spline Rear Chevy Camaro Summit (item 320220723679 end time Mar-22-08 18:53:01 PDT)

eBay Motors: Moser A103001 Axles 30-Spline Rear Chevy Impalla SS (item 330214569219 end time Mar-24-08 21:16:35 PDT)

You'll probably need to contact Moser by phone and see what they say. The various axles you listed are all different lengths. The Impala ones will be too long, the Camaro ones are probably too short, the Chevelle axles would be close. Maybe someone can chime in with a P/N.

Okay so I found a good p/n. Its p/n A103004 about half way down on the link below. Now Moser makes some C-Clip axles and Custom Alloy axles. Are these made out of the same material? I would rather get the stronger ones. Or do I even need to worry about getting Custom Alloy Axles? Will the C Clip axles be strong enough to run in the 9's with (eventually)

Moser Engineering

And are the ones Cottons sells the same C Clip axles or are they the "Customer Alloy" ones that are better? I am soooo confused but want to order these tonight! Thanks Neal!!!!

but will I need to also get a c-clip eliminator kit? or does the c-clips hold them in?

Just for future reference...
