My drivers side sunvisor will slowly fall down about every 30 minutes. The passenger side will fly back under heavy boost. What's the cure? All screws are as tight as I can get them. Actually I need some new ones as these are looking kind of ragged. Thanks, R.B.

I took mine off :) tinted the top 5-6 inches of windshield with limo 5 % tint. just as good as the visor

For the drivers side, there is a replacement nylon insert that needs replacing. Order it from GM. I suspect that the passenger side problem is related to the spring tension from the 3 screw bracket that holds the sun visor on. Maybe a replacement spring from a used unit may fix it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. BTW, where can I pick up a pair of top quality GN sunvisors? Thanks, R.B.

I have the same problem with the passenger visor flying back and scaring the passenger when I give it some gas off the line :)
I took it all apart and couldn't see how to tighten it up at all, so I stuck some adhesive backed velcro on the headliner and the other half of the velcro on the top side of the visor, and just smush it there, and not it stays in place. You have to tug a bit to get the visor to pivot now, but it's no big deal.

Well a pontiac place has them here, im gonna go take a look at them after work. Its only $1.19 canadian so it cant be much to it.

Hopefully this solves the problem cause my passenger side does it as well.

I'll let you know if I think thats the right one.

Thanks TurboFish

Well I saw the piece, and if your visor is falling down by itself then that is the piece for you.

If your visor is swinging out, like mine, then it is not the piece you need. Still not sure what makes it swing out, if anyone knows please let me know.

Gotta bring this back. So I got said "sleeve" and put it in the visor itself, and it nowhere NEAR fits back onto the visor post that is mounted to the roof. How do I get my visor back on?

i ordered the sleeve months ago, finally got around to installing and found out the post is spinning inside the chrome base :( i think this is whats happening to the o.p. hence the setscrew suggestion. i'm prolly gonna do the same-

That was my second guess. Though I found the original sleeve buried within the visor's upholstery, I replaced it anyhow lol. I'm going to see how I can possibly tighten the entire post as well. Mine seemed tight though. I'll retry it.

Highway Stars sells that little plastic piece to tighten the visor but their website is down right now. I bought a couple but haven't tried to install them yet.

My passenger side would slowly fall and I bought the sleeves. Tightened the piss out of it... No fix. So I removed the actual anchor and like mentioned above, the mount shaft was the problem. It spun independently inside the anchor. My fix, super glue down into the anchor all around the shaft. 6 months and counting with zero issues.

So, does the shaft supposed to be stuck inside the visor, and turn within the mounting bracket, or is it supposed to be firm in the bracket, and spin within the visor?

I'm almost certain it is suppose to spin with in the visor and not the shaft itself. Because you have the tightening screws as a "brake" and you are over powering the brake to adjust into a new stationary position, as the shaft would have no "brake" and would just spin freely
