Dumb Question?

This may be a silly question, but I just don't know if this is ok or not. I just purchased my car, and crawled underneath it today to find that I can see my torque converter! I don't know if the piece that covers it is necessary, or if anyone else runs their car like this, but it kinda freaked me out! Do I need to find that cover? Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

It should have the cover to protect the flywheel and TC from objects that may cause it some damage

i would first try the great vendors here. then a local trans shop.
