EGR valve/ what's it do/where to get new one??

While replacing the fuel reg., I was thinking of replacing the origional EGR valve. Do I need to? What's it's purpose? Thanks guys!!!

all it is is for emission. you dont need it. thats just my .02

Only two reasons to replace it.

Leaks exhuast.. meaning the gasket is burnt.

or.. doesnt hold vacuum on its nipple.. meaning the diaphram is torn.
