What is a good EGT reading under boost? My 86 GN came with a Autometer EGT gauge. I installed new 60lb inj., 255 pump and a Turbo Tweak chip. At the preset tune it would run under 1000f (full throttle). It seemed a little doggy. I cut the fuel back about 1.8% and added 1.1 deg. of timing. It now reads about 1250f under full throttle ans 17-18lb boost. It runs considerably better.

the sensor should be just before the turbo in the passenger header
when i kept a close eye on egts (before WB) i would run 1575 on a safe tune ,
my advice run wb and find where yours has most power and see where the egt is as egt will vary with turbo and exhaust restriction , what works for someone else may not be good for you

OK, thanks for the advise. The sensor is in the passenger side manifold right before the turbo.

When ATR was in business, they told me 1450-1550 is the range you want to be in.

Also timing.

I would run mine between 1575 and 1625. The 1625 was too lean for others, but for me it would make mine run like a scalded cat! I was running it at 1640 until some of the guys were losing h/g's at 1585-1605 and I decided to roll it back.
A w/b will help eliminate guessing and help get you into the sweet spot for your combo. It would save a lot of work.
