EGT temps

Just got done installing a Computech EGT weld in kit. I was told that 1800 degs. would be the max you would ever want to see, but my car never comes close to that. Is this a correct temp? What would the highest temp be without knock?

Depends on air fuel and timing.

Most see 1500-1650 at WOT pre-turbo

1600 my friend. i drove by your house the other night in my car with open exhaust. your garage was open with the buick trunk open with a fuel jug in the back.

What would the typical range be after the turbo?
I've got an older EGT with the 'band & drill' style bung near the top of my TH dowpipe.

I'm seeing ~1660 degrees @ 770mv with a 93 TT street chip @ 19psi (no alky being sprayed). Zero knock activity per Casper's gauge & Turbometer Pro.

Oh man you should have stopped by! My daughters have a bad habit of leaving the damn garage door open, hell the keys were still in the trunk lid! Cant wait to get back in MY house, its been 8 months building it. Feel like I'm in limbo @ Rancho!
