i have a hotair motor with stock turbo. i want to simplify the ugly vacuum routing by cleaning things up. since im not interested in going over stock psi of boost, can i just remove the wastegate solenoid by removing the vaccuum T and going straight from the compressor to the wastegate then back to the vaccuum block on the throttle body. If i ever needed to increase the boost, i would just shorten the rod. Would this work? would i need a vacuum restrictor in the line somewhere, since i think the wastegate solenoid has one ?

i did some searching and seems like i can just route the vaccuum lines from compressor to wastegate with no restrictor

Best thing to do would go from compressor to wastegate with some sort of bleeder valve in-between like the rjc boost controller or similiar device. The issue with going directly from the compressor to the wastegate is that the boost will always being pushing the actuator open killing your boost. The valves that go in-between limit the amount of boost going to the actuator. Its a good way of controlling the boost. You can set your actuator rod at one length and control the boost with the controller instead.
