Well I think I've done it now...got the transmission finally fixed today, and was out doing some tests this evening....I hear what sounds like a rod knocking below...still has good oil pressure. Looks like I'll be tearing it down again. I swear I'm getting real good at yanking this engine.
Engine has 107k miles on it, and last time I had it out to replace both head gaskets, I took a look at a couple of the main and rod bearings..not perfect, but hey it's got some miles on it and the previous owner didn't know how to check the oil,. I found a receipt in the car when he brought it in to be repaired, and he was down 3+ quarts of oil.. I kinda figured I be doing a rebuild soon. Also this poor thing sat for 7+ years.
Anyhow, need a line on someone that can do a good shortblock rebuild in Oklahoma City. If need be, I could travel to Kansas or Dallas Ft. Worth.
Thanks
Steve
