I need help! I need to pull my motor so we can finally get this car to a shop to get the motor rebuilt. What key things do I need to look for in pulling the motor and unhooking everything? We just pulled the motor out of my 87 Cutlass which was easy, but with the Turbo (which we have no experience with) I need to know what else were looking at. Advice and leads to reference material to do this will be helpful.

Thanks!
Sarah

Like GNTTYPE states:
Pull a little bit at a time. ........ This is so you can "check and re-check" ALL wire connections. Watch for the ground cable to the fire wall, the transmission cables, and the knock sensor corrector. Mostly, try to have fun! That way you don't get frustrsated and break something.

I just pulled my engine using the gnttype technique. It is accurate. Just get all the wires down the front of the motor, and dont forget there are grounds behind the passenger head. Also don't forget the cables to the starter. Otherwise good to go!

GM High Tech Performance Magazine did a full spread, pics and all, on the subject in the last few months. I loaned my issues to an aquaintance(with a new GTO) because he needed to catch up on those arties, so- I can't say exactly which month it was. They have a website(gmhightechperformance.com) and, no doubt, could enlighten you/provide you with the back issue(if needed).

Thanks for all the replies guys. I will definately be posting more now that I have a TR to inquire about!
