Engine surge

Anybody ever have trouble with engine surge at idle? I bought this car in pieces and don't know exactly how its supposed to run. I've completely rebuilt the engine to stock specs. .040 overbore. Stock turbo any suggestions? Bernie Steffen zstef@mchsi.com

What exactly do you mean by engine surge? Like cutting in and out at idle? Or different ranges of rpms....like flares?

Gnasuka Thanks for the comeback. I guess what I mean is it changes RPm up and down and finally it will die after a short period. I'm about to pull my hair out with this thing it has new coil and module. And rebuilt turbo. engine just doesn"t run like it should thanks again any help appreciated. Hmmm....its a little thing, but did you check out the Idle Air Control? Sometimes that can cause flares...but Im not sure about the dying. The TPS sensor could also be giving you trouble. If none of those do anything, Id have to think its some sort of fueling problem. Perhaps clogged injectors, or a clogged fuel system. Have you replaced the fuel pump with a new one?

If not an bad vaccumn leak, more than likely a bad maf sensor.
