In the search for "pure gas" via The Pure Gas website I discovered that a gas station near me has given in and started selling ethanol in their gas. I know of one pure-gas gas station left...but I still want to know what those of you that are left with no other recourse are doing. Especially those like me who don't drive their car often.

Are you using Stabil with every tank of gas?

What about Star Tron? I saw this at a motorcycle shop I took my old ZX-9R to and they swear by it. I'd never heard of it before.

Why are you worried about ethanol? I was pissed when I moved and cant find a station within 30 miles that sells E85...

All of the ethanol "horror stories" are myths... the only issue you may have is that if you've got old junk in the tank or a weak fuel pump you will most likely be replacing your FP soon. Also you MIGHT see a minor fuel mileage drop due to the 10% Ethanol slightly changing the AFR requirements. When I say "might" Im talking about the difference you might see from one good romp on the gas.

Ethanol in turbo cars is great!

Also how long are you letting your car sit or how long does a tank last you? If you really are worried about it, or are storing it for winter then prep it as you would for winter storage... I would be more worried about a battery tender than the gas.

My end all honest solution is: Go drive and enjoy your car! :D

Hi,
I agree with the other guy;you need to stop obsessing about your fuel. Alcohol has been, for the last 20 years,in gasoline. Most of it has been methanol,10% usually. It says just that on every pump I fill up at. I can't imagine where you would get anything else. Now a few stations are selling E85,and I love it! I lace every tank of premium gas with a gallon of E85,and guess what,no more detonation! I'm only running 17 or so pounds of boost, but it used to noticeably clatter. Not any more. Mileage is down, but who cares? I'm driving mostly on weekends, anyway.Rethink your aversion to this stuff.

Are you guys kidding me? Ethanol is terrible. Everybody I know is having issues with lawn equipment since the change. There are some power equipment manufactorers that won't warranty there product if ethanol is used in it. Myth? what ever. Keep drinking the kool-aid.
I guess global warming is man made aslo. We should all sell our ozone destroying cars and start driving smart cars.
