Exhaust leaks>Make you rich @ low end?

My car has been running fat on the low end & I've had 3 or 4 different chips in it. Tomorrow I'm going to check for the famous driver's side header crack & look around the crossover etc...I've heard that a exhaust leak before the turbo would make you run rich @ the low end, & just wanted to be sure. I guess if I don't find an exhaust leak, will I have to have some fuel taken out of the chip or what else would cause this condition???
