What seems to be best mufflers for these things? Im currently running the 2.5 hooker set up and it seems i get a drone noise at cruiseing speeds and realy does not have alot of bark at wot, dont get me wrong i still want to be able to cruise and here myself think! Can i get some info and results from you guys? mabye a sound clip,Im tossing around flowmaster or dynamax maybe.

Performance wise, Flowmasters are more restrictive than turbo style mufflers. Drone is a common issue. There's some muffler info in the archives on the other TR site.

flowmasters are probably the worst exhaust you could do with these cars. They are baffled mufflers which create back pressure which is fine for an na engine but on our cars you need a muffler with a straight through design like the hooker you have now or if you want to upgrade dynamax and magnaflow. there's also the exhaust the vendors offer which is nice if your going to replace the whole system. If you going to do just the mufflers i'd recommend magnaflow.

so should i take these flowmasters off. i mean the guy i bought the car from put them on.

Do a search for the "3 Muffler System" It is the ONLY system that eliminates drone. Flow master muflers are one the worst for drone and poor performance on a turbo car. I have installed just about every type of muffler there is and Flowmasters don't come close to the sound and performance of a straight through perforated style muffler. (Ultra-Flow, Magna-Flow among others) A turbocharged engine does not need back pressure in the exhaust. The turbo creates all the back pressure you'll ever need. (and then some) The drone is frequency resonance. By placing a Ultra-Flow cross flow muffler behind the rear end, it cancels that frequency out. In 2.5" size with three Ultraflows on the car, it has more than enough flow capability to run 9's at over 135, and still be church mouse quiet at cruise, but still hear it at WOT.

Yes Anarchy take the Flowmasters off. They're really not as much of a performance muffler as most think. In fact they're really only good on a low performance engine that you want to make "sound" good. I'd go even as far as saying they're perfect/were designed for a smog dog V8 of the late 70's which never sees much over 2000 rpms anyways due to the ultra high gearing that most V8 American cars received back then. (2000 rpm is where Flowmasters drone the most which is what gives them their distinct sound)

three turbos, the best mufflers would be any type of free flowing muffler, that you can see in one side and out the other, that is a perforated tube and NOT a raised louvered glasspack type. Dynomax Ultraflows are what I've always used. On my car I've got the straight shot 3 inch with a Dynomax Ultraflow. It's a bit loud but I'm going to try a resonator at the tail pipe as I believe this will reduce most of the interior resonance.

I don't mind it loud on the outside, just not on the inside. ;)

well thank for the info im online now and ordered a set they dew in in 4 days... hooray for me.

dyno max ultra flows. they seam to be the best choice from what you said. Dynomax 17219 ULT Flo MUF EXP SPTRAC 01

I love my Hooker Aero Chambers, I am looking at the Dynomax Bullets tho, At 40$ or so each for bullets, sounds good to me.
