can you folks share links or info about the possibility of extra injectors being turned on by the reading of an o2 sensor? i was thinking of having one injector at .9 and a second at .87. thanks, chris

Maybe using a WB, but I doubt there's enough resolution to figure out when to add fuel with a NB O2.

While interesting, you can do about the same thing just looking at boost. If this is an attempt to make up for running small injectors, then using a DS with a boost sensing harness, will show you when your going static, and that'd probably be as good.

what do you mean boost sensing harness and DS? i am a newbie to turbo buicks and from the shelby turbo dodge realm. thanks for the reply.

The folks at Turbolink sell a harness that feeds a MAP signal into the ecm thur the MAT input.
DS = Direct Scan, a scanner sold by Chu engineering.

can the 86 buick regal ecm be reprogrammed on the fly like the gm turbo sunfire, syclone, or the 749?

Can it be?, yes.
But, it takes removing the EPROM socket that's in there. I've never been able to find an reliable adapter to read with any adapter. You need a RomulatorII, and the software from Tunercat to do it.

On the Thrid Gen F Body Board there's a guy selling Prominator's that can do the board rework.

For all that work, IMO, might as well make up the adapter and learn the ropes on running the 749 in a GN.

on the 749 can you run let's say 4 injectors for a 4 cylinder and then stagger additional injectors with alternative fuel that will operate within different parameters of the other injectors? or is it an all or nothing deal where all the injectors are running off the same numbers from the table? sorry for the questions outside turbobuick it's alittle hard to come by info regarding the 749 ecm. thanks, chris.

The source code is on the net for the 749.
So it's just a matter of what you want to do.

I'm running 60PPH injectors with a stock 749 on my GN, and things are nice as is. How much extra fuel do you need?.

If you use a Bst Contrl then you can use the wastegate output of the ecm for an additional fuel doohickey.

can you recommend any sites for the 749 and did you buy a kit or do everything yourself? thanks... this has helped alot

This board seems to have some adventuresome guys, that have used the 749 for some none stock applications.

I bought the bits and pieces from Casper's and then soldered things up.

This site has lots of great info., and a copy of the source code.

Actually I had my car tuned by Eric Marshall using the Romulator plugged into my ecm through a socket and had direct scan working at the same time. He was making adjustments to my MAF tables "on the fly". So yes it does, where he got the socket?? and the program he used was a custom deal he made. Pretty neat stuff. Made the changes.. had the car driving correctly, saved the image.. burned.. its what's in the car currently. No mods required to ecm.

thanks for the contacts, but i am more interested in doing things myself. yes i could purchase everything as one kit but i am just looking for a project.
