extremely delayed 1-2 shift (happens at 4000rpm ???)

well, its been a few days after my little escapade and i put the new driveshaft in. much to my dismay, rolling down the street the car would not get out of 1st gear. in fact it took until 4000rpm before it shifted to 2nd, once there it seemed to act normal.

the tv cable is hooked up because i unhooked it and went aroudn the block and the car acted worse..

so, any ideas? bruce? this SUCKS! everything was fine until mr driveshaft decided he didnt like living anymore and exited.. as far as i know everything works fine still but im afraid to drive the car incase its something simple yet self destructive.. for all i know the tranny could care less but id rather not make the problem worse before i make it better.

any ideas?

SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED TO LOOK AT THE GOVERNOR AND GEAR TO VERIFY THEY WERENT DAMAGED.

my money would be on the gov spring got tossed when the shaft let lose and over spun it.
