And the surprise is?.

When so many customers just look at the price and ignore where the auto part, tools, shoes, shirts, pants, etc., come from what do you expect?.

Liberty has it's cost, one of them being higher prices. Along with taxes. Evading either has long term reprocusions, just look at the economy and unemployement. While it's nice to try and blame Bush, he's not the cause. It's just narrow sighted cheapness on the customers part. As for taxes if you want to live where the taxes are low try any Asian country, and be sure you like rice. Afbackwardstan probably has low taxes too, just remember which hand to wipe, and which to eat with. Just that simple.

Not to mention this world economy thing means everyone living at the lowest common denominator. Anyone for making their morning coffee over a nice warm fire of dung?.

I sure hope folks start figuring this out soon, that buying Chinese, Japanese, Germany, or whatever goods erode the standard of living HERE.

Bruce is right. As a nation, we sell-out every day. I liked the line from the movie "Armageddon" when Steve Bushemi (sp) says to Bruce Willis "You realize we are riding on a rocket built by the lowest bidder?"

Excellent Bruce! When the offshore countries start living at the same standards we do,then they'll be decent trading partners.
Until then,they can pi$$ off.

When you read that article, think about how the whole Buick V6 logo thing gets tied into the mess.

But the auto industry must be more diligent in protecting its brands and trademarks by registering them

I know a V6 logo on a floor mat is very different from a compressed grass brake lining, but GM won't/can't be selective about what they protect and don't protect (except though expensive trademark licenses).
