Anybody have some trick ideas on installing an xfi with a caspers module? Is it best to mount the map sensor under the dash and run a vacuum line to it, or run a harness to the stock location? Can you tap into the hvac system and be accuratate and not take away from hvac door operation? thanks for any ideas, Dave.

Casper's makes a jumper harness that plugs into your cars wire harness for the stock MAP sensor going to your stock LED bar boost gauge. It connects in near your stock ECM. This allows you to replace your stock MAP sensor in the engine compartment with your 3 bar sensor for your XFI and not run any extra wires.

The best way is to use an AMS MAP sensor and be sure its hard plumbed (preferably threaded) into the intake. With no lines to blow off you are building in safety.

The MAP sensor is made by AEM. Get a 3.5 or 4 bar sensor from Cal and thread it into the intake. Then extend the MAP wire to the sensor.

You want to be able to view the lights on the XFI. This is how I mounted mine. I got some of the plastic 3M velco and velco'ed the two together. I then spaced the XFI box off the module. There is a piece of aluminum flat stock behind the factory ECM plastic kick panel.

Caspers makes an extension harness that you can relocate the XFI box under the passenger seat.

On my 3 bar GM map I trimmed the nipple on it and installed a compression fitting with an 1/8 npt on the other end. Then put an 1/8 npt to -3 adapter. The ran -3 braided hose from the intake to the map sensor. No rubber lines used.

A little cheaper than the $125+ AEM sensors.

but if you plan on higher than 30 PSI.. something to consider.

I used Casper's adapter to tap into the factory MAP wiring by the glovebox and mounted the 3-bar MAP under the hood on the RH fender pan. I then used "Industrial Strength Velcro" to stick the FAST module to the factory kick-panel trim. The Casper's module is where the ECM was.

Just wandering reading this post, will there be two map sensors on the car (the stock map and the XFI map)??

No,You only need 1,But it must be a 3 bar (or higher if you are gonna run over 30#s)
The XFI ties into your stocker. If you spend a little extra Casper makes an adaptor that goes behind the dash and uses your stock map in the stock place without splicing wires or having to reloacte it.
Of course if your car came with a factory digital dash the Caspers Jumper box has a place you can plug the map directly into behind the dash

I tapped into the map sensor wire behind the glovebox and soldered it to the the map sensor connector on the caspers adapter. My MAP sensor is still in the stock location.
I used caspers 3ft extension harness and installed the adapter under the carpet under the glovebox.
I gotta thank Otto for the BEST XFI support in the country!
I'll post some pics later.

Sounds like the exact way my buddy hooked his up. If I remember correctly he had his installed and running in something like an hour or two. Feel free to PM him, northerngn. His name is Dan and you can let him know I told you to PM him.
