SignUp Now!just freshened and ready for round 2 !!!![]()
Tim you need to shift your car no less then 6100 to 6300rpm. That is the benifit of using a hyd roller over flat tappet. I am pretty sure that if you run a 28" tire and shift each gear at 5700rpm then your gonna run out of gear before the end of the 1/4 with your TH400. Probably would go through the traps at over 6600rpm in valve float territory.
Correct it is a 28" tire . Thanks guys for info I'll try it out this weekend and see how the engine feels shifting at those numbers . Hopefully it will keep making power at those numbers and not drop off .![]()
Just trying to figure out if I have a record or something. Has anyone with a hydralic roller in a 109 gone faster than 9.40 and 146 mph?
I shift around 62-6300 and go through the traps at ~6200...
At a track rental (MIR raceway 11/06) I ran 10.15 @ 131 on a 4 psi foot brake launch, MT 275/60's drag radials (1.46 60 ft.) running 20/21 psi boost going down the track. The best or worst part is that my 2004R trans was slipping on the 2/3 shift big time; also OEM computer with a street TT chip, unleaded & dual alky.
A week or two later the trans was fixed and at the same boost at a Capital rental the car went 134 mph; no better et thou due to bad track prep. I was getting 2.0/2.1 short times that day on "Slicks".
PS: burnout pic from MIR below!!!!
WHAT SIZE TURBO YOU RUNNING AND WHATS THE COMBO IF YOU DONT MIND ME ASKING
The "NEW" champion intake Limited Engineering GTQ76 regular bearing turbo, dual razor alky
Did you use the trans brake and what launch boost, 60 ft.?
I used the trans brake, left @4100 rpm, 12 psi, 1.39 60'
Has anyone with a hydralic roller in a 109 gone faster than 9.40 and 146 mph?
What size hyd roller?
UPDATE:
New times Nov 14th, Hub City Dragway
1/8th mile
5.81 @ 120.42
1/4 mile
9.09 @ 149.15 (best mph 149.25)
What size hyd roller?
I am all ears on this one![]()
I think Cruz used a DLS spec cam when freshened it up last year.
Jason
I remember when you were fighting to get into the fives (I was struggling with low 6's), now you are nocking them down all the time.
Did you ever think these 109's would go this fast?
Did Don or Dan even tell you the cam specs of your motor?
