Good to see we have some REAL BBQ people here!

Truthfully, a supermarket ribeye that's sat long enough to brown a bit, rubbed with either texjoy or excalibur seasoning. Couple minutes a side on the el cheapo BBQ grill and eat it medium rare. Loaded baked tater is a plus, maybe some fresh from the garden onions (or vidalias) cooked in tinfiol with liberal amounts of butter and worcestershire sauce. The steak only needs a bit of salt and fresh ground pepper from my grinder after it's cooked.

I've eaten at all the local steakhouses and nothing comes close to this. My parents have a pellet grill/smoker and it's nice but doesn't suit me for a steak.
The best steak i've ever eaten was cooked on a crappy grill behind a transmission shop. The food we made there would rival any local restaurant.

I also like prime rib with horseradish, even though I know it's just a fancy cooked roast it's still my choice when eating at a "steak house"

Might try some ideas from this thread.

That will work........
But for steak I'm kinda partial to my ol trusty Weber.
Very hot fire, 1 3/4" to 2" fillet, 5 mins per side don't even look inside because you know it is perfect.....;)

2-2 1/2 inch filet.... fresh cracked pepper... run a flashlight over it a few times and give it to me with a side of Bernaise....:D

I eat at the windmill a lot and it is ONLY because I can walk back to the motel:cool:

That Log Cabin steak house North of Hiawatha wasn't to bad.

I had a Holland grill for awhile but sold it and went back to my Weber as well.

ok guys, about the only thing I cannot make worth a s**t is Gravy for potato's..........

Anybody have a secret trick for it?

Anyone ever eat a Prime Rib at the "Chart House" in Lahina, Maui? Well worth the expense of the airline ticket.

If you ever make it to Maui, go to Kihei and go into Safeway (in the back) and ask for Azeka's Ribs. You'll have to grill them at your condo (DON'T stay in a hotel, stay in a condo!). Our condo had an open pit BBQ. MAN! that was a dinner to remember! A co-worker grew up in Maui and gave me the inside track on Azeka's ribs! He wasn't kidding! The BEST I have ever had.

Both are decent places, and I get prime rib at both (windmill more frequently, they only have it friday or saturday nights though) but a regular steak like a ribeye I just can't enjoy at any restaurant or steakhouse I've tried at this point. By no means am I a connoseur, hell I can't even spell it right, but so far I've not gotten out enough to discover a real steak house. I have perfected the "bang for the buck" method to my taste and that's all I need I guess.

Chuck Eye Steak=

Really cheap steak but damn, it's good! I like mine on the grill with a little lemon pepper and itailian seasoning. I like them cooked medium to meduim-rare. If your short on moeny but you still want a good steak, chuck eye steak is the way to go IMO. Only one place sells them here, 'Save-A-Lot'.

I am a prime rib guy....so tender it disolves in your mouth like cotton candy...heavy pepper and garlic in my Aus Ju...and I am good.

My wife & spent a weekend at Bed & Breakfast in OK last year & one night they served Kobe steak....Wow, that was by far the best tasting, most tender steak I've ever had. I'm hoping that someone can tell me where I can buy just the steaks & cook them myself....Anyone????
