Hey Guys , Have a couple of questions. I just got around to installing a new Walbro 340 pump in my car. I bought it 3 yrs ago. Anyway , when I took the pump out the instruction's said to reuse the pulseator. I later read on one of the former post's that someone discarded the pulseator and used the short piece of hose and the 2 clamp's. Did I messup? Also after I installed everything ( plug & play harness) and put fuel in tank, The pump won't run. Getting juice to the relay but none out to pump. Any ideas would be greatly appriciated. Hal

pump

A couple of weeks ago, I had the same problem with the pump after i changed it out to a bigger one. I did end up using a piece of thick hose instead of the pulsator, but only because the pump i got was a poston's pump which is a modified syclone pump, but is shorter so the pulsator would not reach. anyways, it ended up i dropped the tank again and i had plugged in the plug with the two wires in it, but forgot to plug on the black ground wire on the side. like you, my pump relay kicked on and had voltage but would not run, but after i plugged the wire on it worked fine.

Thank's for the reply, I guess I will have to drop the tank and see what's up. I just wonder if I should plug the old connecter's back up and bypass the relay and see if the pump run's like that. Would it hurt the pump at all. At least if it run's I know the relay is the problem. Hal

relay

bypassing the relay shouldn't hurt anything. I actually did something similar. If the pump still doesnt run then there you have it.

Thank's again , I'm starting to wonder if maybe I have the wrong harness. They show 2 different one's on the Racetronix web site. Doe's your red hot wire match with the (faded) pink wire on the old plug? Hal

Well I guess I will be dropping the tank tomorrow. Bypassed the relay, and still no good. Hal

The HW harnesses are the same for the G77 and G75.
Only the in-tank wiring is different.

Well this story has a happy ending anyway. I removed the tank today (much easier after all the rust and dirt fell on me the first time.) I replaced the pulsator with the hose & clamps, checked the terminals to make sure they were tight and applied 12volts to the pump to make sure it worked. It did , so I put it all back together and checked to see if there was any voltage with ignition on. Still none but this time it started! Don't know why don't care just happy to have car running again. Hal

When you put the key forward the computer turns the fuel pump on for a brief time to prime the pump / lines. Until you crank the motor you will not have constant voltage there.

Good to hear that it is working.

That's the conclusion that I arrived at also. What threw me off is that I could alway's hear my old pump run for a couple second's when I turned the ignition on. But yeah I don't hear anything now when I turn the key on. Hal
