I have just purchased a set of the felpro's.I know the stock ones blow out easy but this fel pro is supposed to be alot better and its not made of copper. Its made from another type of metal.I got stock headers and i believe with the age and abuse of the headers through the years a gasket would make them a more straight fit and not leak because i have been running rich for years when there just bolted in there with some RTV sealant.Any guys have these gaskets??? and do these still blow quickly.I have heard they are much stronger then the stock ones

First off these cars did not come with any gaskets for the exhaust manifolds. If you want to use these there are a couple of items to check. First make sure the exhaust manifolds are flat. Any warpage can cause some issues. Install the gaskets dry and torque to spec. Make sure to use some anti seize on the bolts. The flatness of the manifolds makes a world of difference. Of course you could make sure they are flat and use just a thin coat high temp copper silicone and install to torque specs. This usually works very good to.

Just a thin coat of ultra copper on the side of the exhaust manifold to gasket, not on the Fel Pro metal part of the gasket where it bolts to the heads right??? Is 37 lbs of torque correct for a good seal up???

We use them and love them. never really had a set blow out. we install them dry. be sure to check to make sure each bolt is still tight after a few heat cycles.
