My Glasstek fiberglass trunk has pretty much completely broken off on the driver side mounting bolts. The torque has killed the mounting area and the damned thing sits atleast 3 inches off the body now.
I have tried making braces etc and its toast.
Any ideas or similar problems, fixes?
It would of been cool if they would of made steel mounting plates that would of been fiberglassed into the trunk in this area. This way the bolts would not crush the fiberglass mounting surface like they have from the cars torquing motion.
Even the passenger side has minor tweaks to the mounting surface around the bolts.
Nothing like spending $350 and then a paint shop to paint it to get a part that self destructed in about 200 miles.
