In my fight to tune the beast and lower the Block Learn as well as pass emissions - I have noticed I've previously changed all my vacuum lines except the ones to my EGR solenoid and valve.  When I looked at these closely i noticed they were dry rotted So hopefully I have found the culprit to my BLM blues...I also found a bad check valve to the charcoal canister.  Getting back to the point - has anybody noticed the small, almost fuel filter looking, filter on the back of the EGR Solenoid.  Does this ever need replacement?
