I have never owned a motorcycle, but have been thinking about getting one.

I saw the lady changing the price this morning to $3.53 for 87 octane.

Beginning of the year I changed the sprockets on my CBRF4i for a little more bottom end, used to get 42-50MPG, best it's done since the sprocket swap has been 37....... Stock larger front sproket went back on today:frown:

May trade it for a Kawi Ninja 250r, completely redesigned this year and have heard they get nearly 70mpg:eek:

This about says it all. Shame about it is that according to sources we have leveled off on the amount of fuel we were using over the past several years. Just look at the difference from just last year alone.

I gassed up tonight for $3.32 for 87 in the Honda, and premium grade (can't remember if it was 91 or 92) was $3.52

I'm selling my Turbobuick because of these gas prices and the whole atmosphere. It plain sucks!! I'd rather have the money for food and clothes....

I'm actually thinking of buying one just to drive daily :) 22-25mpg and bad ass performance beats my TA getting 16-18mpg with worse performance :D

I don't blame you if you use your Buick for a DD. I would go broke in a week if I drove mine everyday. When gas prices get high, I just drive it less. It actually works out so I put less miles on it.

Actually I'm thinking of holding off on the engine rebuild on mine. With gas prices the way they are I won't be able to drive it anyway.

I keep thinking about getting a motorcycle. Drivers in NJ are too stupid, though. Plus gas would have to be REALLY high for it to pay back in a reasonable amount of time based on the fact that you can only drive it for 2 seasons in this part of the country (comfortably, anyway).

You can't be serious. It's not as if you're driving a 454 Chevelle that only gets 4 mpg.

Honestly Guys- I know there's more of you who feel the same way as I do. Our Turbobuicks are starting to look like Big, Black weekend Paperweights in the garage!!!

And honestly, if 25 Miles @ 93 Octane sounds good to you, then who are you kidding??? Most guys have larger injectors, and performance mods, so realistically you're getting lower than 25 per gallon anyways. This was meant to be a good middle-class car, and just a few years ago it was fine. And the value of our cars was going up and appreciating. NOT SO NOW!

It plain sucks, and seeing gas going up a nickel a week = at this rate will be 4.00 a gallon average by Memorial day, and who knows where after that??? Are we looking at $5.00 dollars a gallon by November? 20 weeks, it's goes up another dollar at this rate? Do the math... Maybe not, but right now, it's pretty close. I'm an Engineer, so give or take +- 2%.

Trust me- I hate to be a soothsayer, but there will be many more cars for Sale Soon - Auctions, your next door neighbors, and ebay will be flooding with some really nice Turbobuicks, and 454's as Gas Prices and the Economy keep getting worse and worse as we go on.

I'm getting a Harley Davidson and maybe a small Boat. I'll be fishing with my friends and family, taking nice INEXPENSIVE rides on a nice American Heritaged Motorcyle and thinking of you guys....

I'll be trhe first to say, I absolutely love Turbobuicks. But Gas Prices and this whole Gasoline Crisis is turning my stomach. The Arabs, Hedgefund Investors, Corporate Greed, are going to win. They'll drive these prices into the F#ckin Ground!!!

I forsee $6.87 like in the movie "I AM LEGEND" with Will Smith driving around with a Supercharged Shelby GT-500, which by the way sounded completely BassAzz as he whizzed around a empty Manhhattan. Anybody catch that??

That's why I bought mine. There is no way I would think of using the GN as a daily driver. Car Craft had a street car shootout a few years ago and the T that was in the competition knocked down 42MPG. Surely there is a way to get better mileage out of what we have. Perhaps this will open up more business for Eric Marshal? I played around with one of my chips and tuned it to run near 1psi up until around 45% throttle...then things changed for the better. Made for a nice drive with great mileage, until I asked more of it.

I drive an 03 regal and get around 30mpg on the highway. It's a great driver and nothing more. I guess I could sell it and go with a 1.5 liter turd if I needed to but, I don't have to do that right now.

If you're tired of the Buick, sell it. You could also pick up a cheap used turd car and not have to sell anything.

News reported last night that 93 was at 3.99 in Marrietta, Ga.

For those who have a diesel truck or car you might want to look into this. Greasecar.com I have thought about buying a old Benz and converting it to grease and just fill up at the resturants next to my work.

Yeah that was awesome. He was hunting from that Shelby.

25 mpg @ 93 is much better than 16-18 @ 93 due to the 11.8:1 compression of the milled heads on the TA :) And larger injectors and other mods have absolutely no effect on the non-PE operation gas mileage on your TR if the chip is programmed properly to maintain the same AFR as stock..afterall the displacement is still the same and in most cases can be programmed to get better mpg than stock due to the factory always programming a little on the rich side to keep warranty work lower.

Now look at the GM Ecotec 4cyl in the Solstice and Sky..it only gets 19-26 so a TR beats or ties that, and those I think are the only sporty 4cly car that I like.

Problem with everyone using less gas/oil will just make the companies raise the price even further so they can maintain their high profits since less is being used...so there is no end unless the investors quit paying so much per barrel...causing it to pop just like realestate, the dot coms, banks, etc.

You've made some really good points here. Eric Marshall developing a good economy gas chip- driving a turd, etc.

I'm sorry, but maybe I just needto calm down. These gas prices are just absolutely wrong, and it seems that no President or Candidate is going to do anything about it. They'd have to literally start "Busting Heads" of the leaders involved in raising oil Barrel prices, along with those Oil Company execs. I almost wish the goverment would intervene in a really strong way with these Azzholes who keep raising gas prices-

I don't see the govt stepping in..they may act like they are trying to do something about it, but the fact is, those companies, like Exxon Mobil making these giant profits...the govt is getting around 35-40% of that profit in taxes to those companies, so the govt makes out when big oil companies make huge profits also...and thats on top of the govt taxes on each gallon of gas sold at the pump.
Not to mention when gas is already high..that makes it easier for the govt to raise those per gallon taxes and the public not notice it as much, there's already talk about the govt wanting to double the current pump tax. It sux, but oil is more valuable than money now and is the fuel for the entire economy and is unfortunately a necessity that cannot be done without.

What's the difference with high gas prices when you only drive once in a while anyway. Might as well hold on to it. Plus, you should follow the rebuild through.
