Filter Question on a Ford Trans.

Trying to change the filter on my tow vehicle and a small plastic piece was found in the pan. It has one end that is round with an o-ring and a stem on the other end. It is a 2001 Ford Expedition with a 4R70W trans. Anyone know where this piece might go? It is driving me crazy!.

throw it away, Ford uses those to plug the dipstick hole when they prefill the trans on the assembly line, when they stick the tube in the trans later on it falls in,I get calls about those all the time, good way to tell if anyone has ever serviced the trans before.
