I have a new MAF pipe with cone filter, what do you do with the plug- in type connection that goes into the stock elbow?

That is the inlet air temp sensor.

Just laying it on the inner fender is fine. Drilling it into the new filter is silly.

Most chips don't do anything with the IAT reading, anyway and there would be little difference between the reading on the fender well and in the pipe.
