Whenever my truck would get hot, the TCC solenoid would stick and I'd have to downsift manually to first before my engine stalled (idle speed is 1,000). Now that I've finally changed it out, it refuses to lock at all! I can tell you, driving a 9" 3500 stall converter without lockup flat s%ucks! Try going from 2100 @ 70 mph to 2700!
I'm guessing I can test this by jacking up the rear axle (just off the floor), letting the tranny upshift past first, and grounding the two outside terminals (TAN/BLK <-> BLK/WHT) on the ALDL connector. This *should* lock the converter - right? Anything else I can look for (besides brake switch) before pulling the pan again?
Thanks!
