After being stored for about 8 plus ys. With a lot of help here and a few new parts(alky/walbro-hotwire kit/TT chip). Finally in tha 12's. 60 ft still BAD. But heading in the right direction.

60 ---------2.154
330 -------5.554
1/8 -------8.366
mph------87.74
1000------10.803
1/4--------12.874
mph-------108.94 22-24# of boost / With 0 knock / Alky set at 5 / Car still running a little warm. Everytime I pull to the lights. Car is running around 185-190. Is this normal. Still happy. Gonna start working on T-Type now.

Congrats. You still have a ton of potential, easily a bottom 12, or high 11 second car. If you're concerned about cooling, you should post more details about your combo.

Are you running the 160 thermostat? What was ambient temp? Do you have your fans on a separate switch to control them?

Whats the best and cheapest way to keep the GN cool. I dont track it that much. But Temps will stay around 175 - 195 in normal stop and go traffic. Sometimes 205. And about 170 - 180 on Hwy in about 85 - 90 deg temp's. Would getting a bigger fan on a switch be good. Or a bigger radiator. Or both. What kinda $$ i'm I looking at. Dont need to spend alot right now since I just purchased project T-Type. haha. Have 160 Thermostat in car.

Orginal radiator? If it is good change it's weeping slowly.

Mine did. If it's crapping out it's not going to do it's job.

I'm loving my Alradco radiator and dual fans from TRcustomparts, expensive investment but well worth it. I was seeing the same temps as you before. My old radiator was so full of crap. Had to back flush the system for about 20 minutes before I was satisfied that it was clean. Now in traffic with 90 deg temps I'm seeing 180 a/c on, 170 a/c off.

Yes its orginal. Does all GN have problems with high temps with old radiators.

I have one from Arizonagn. Drops right in and always kept my car at under 200 even with run after run at the track with little cooldown time. As most said though I'd also switch to the 160 T stat.

Grats on 12's by the way..without that bad 60ft 11's look to be close!

Thats good. How much did this setup cost. More or less than $500.

Tks. Iwas going to get some mt drags and try to get low 12's. But im gonna have to get this heating problem taken care of first. How much did your setup cost ya. More or less than $500.

Try to flush the rad. out first and if it comes back down to a steady 170 or so, you should do ok. I was referring to putting a rocker/toggle switch on your hi-speed fan relay so you can turn it on at any given time for extra cooling if needed. I believe there is a diagram on www.gnttype.org that has the schematic for it.

You could also try a F-body aluminum radiator. They work really well and are cheap....around $120

For the radiator and 160 t stat it was under $500.

Hey John.....I was in the same boat I wanted an aluminum rad but did not have the cash for one.....I ended up going with an aluminum from Griffin for a G-body got it from Summit for $150

Now it does not have a trans or oil cooler but that was not a big deal to me since I already run external coolers.....had to do some very minor trimming and it dropped right in....the car on a hot day sitting in traffic stays around 165-170 if it is nasty hot out it will bump 185 or so but comes right back down as soon as you get rolling.

I use the F body radiator with external coolers. Runs cool, <180, in Florida heat. Even with external coolers you're way under $500

alradco radiator black powdercoated with both coolers $515
high output spal dual fan kit with caspers harness $455

I purchased both through Trcustomparts. There are cheaper alternatives.
