First impressions are that these upgrades are incredible!!! I haven't went out and done any fine tuning yet, but the car feels awesome!!! I hit the gas about 3/4 & my boost hit an instant 25+ lbs. ,(and I do mean instant!!!) so I'll have to turn it down a bit before going out again.Overall though, the car has never spooled so fast, the throttle response & power is incredible & I feel like I've just created a monster!!!
I do have a question though: I left my fuel pressure where it was before the trans+/extender chip which was at 39 line off. I know that Ramchargers suggested that I start off around 45 line off & tune from there, but at idle my blm's are already at a perfect 128. So should I raise the fuel pressure & then take out some fuel from my base fuel settings & see if I can get back to128? Now that I think about it, I remember that the instructions that came with the big mouth cold air kit also suggested that I should raise my fuel pressure a couple of lbs. after the install of their air kit, so maybe I should go ahead & do that, but then I think about my perfect 128 blm's, so what should I do? Did those of you that are running the extender chip set your fuel pressure at the 45lbs. that was recommended?
There is alot for me to learn about this trans+/extender chip tuning stuff & I know that I can with all the helpful information you guys always seem to provide here on the TurboBuick board!!!

If the BLM's are 'in the middle' then leave the fuel pressure where it is....

The extender will sense the extra airflow from the mods and deliver the extra fuel..

Tune the WOT fuel mixture with the MAF WOT dial in the translator.

Enjoy the toys.

Thanks alot Bob for the fast reply. I also want to say thanks for taking the time & effort to come up with this great chip program & for the translator +!!! I know I'm just starting to learn how to tune it out, but I can already tell a world of difference. The spoolup is incredible!!!!

Thanks again, The Darkside:cool:

Ok, today I got to go out & test again. Boost was set at 25 lbs.,the alchy set to come on at 15 & the pump speed was turned all the way up.I left the fuel pressure at 39 line off. I decided to punch it from about a 30 mph roll up to about 80 mph & this is what I got:

My o2's started around 845 & came down to 797, I got 0 knock, my maf #'s were in the 380 range throughout the run.(That extender chip sure helped those maf #'s come up ).One tghing I did notice was that it kinda cut out for a split second at the 1,2 shift, but came right back & pulled really hard and smooth after that. Also noticed at cruising speed (35-45 mph) that the car felt as if it were chugging along, maybe that's just the torque convertor or something? Anyways, I'm not sure if I should change anything or not, what do you guys think?

Could be the TCC lockup coming on too early, not sure what it would be set at in the extender chip, or maybe you can adjust it, I know there are some things on it you can change... Most aftermarket chips set it to come on around 41-45 mph. Will definitely get a clugging feeling if it comes on lower than 40 mph in 4th gear, at least I did in all of my cars.

thanks for the info. I cant wait to get my maf and all now, i ve had the same problem with my old one so i hope this help me to.

Where can i get these parts, ram chargers is the only one ive seen so far. I just bought the maf , and will get the trans for 179.00 but what chip do i need , there are two that i see .

There is a ex chip thats is 50.00 and one that is 119.00.

thanks for any help.

:)

If I were you, I'd buy the trans. plus & the 119.00 extender chip. The trans. plus lets you adjust wot fuel & timing, whether it's your own chip or the extender chip. I've been very impressed so far & really glad that I decided on the translator plus instread of the reg. translator. Think about it...If you buy the trans. plus version, you can run reg pump gas or race gas with the same chip because you can adjust the timing & fuel.
