We'll I can certainly see how you think that is funny. Most people lack the skills necessary to drive in anything other than a straight line.
Thus you have folks that purchase a car that is a world beater in handling and braking and you turn it into a drag car instead of hitting open track events.
The people that have the amount of money to spend on a car like that and make it illegal (and actually useless for anything but racing) since it can not be smogged in that state of modification dont really give a chit about much. I wouldnt doubt that the owner has several other high $ high performance cars to road race with. Money is not a limiting factor in any of those types of buildups. The Corvette body in general is excellent for a car that hits very high mph anyway. Would i do mysely? No way but he obviously did.
