Love Corvette's almost as much as Buick's!

That shop is about 30 minutes from me. Apparently the car has a 4L80E and a solid rear. Still pretty badass though...

Scottie, it still has the IRS, it's got a beefed up C5 IRS set up or something...

Corvette's dont turn my crank AT ALL....but that is an impressive car, none-the-less!!

Definitely impressing.....guy doesn't need a line lock, he has enough torque to do a solid burnout just punching the go-pedal.

Looks like he started with a good foundation....a 505 hp LS7 and only made it better.

The Z06 has a rear mounted 4L80E via a shortened C5 Torque tube. The transmission has the bellhousing cut off (similar to installing an ultrabell) and we made custom adapter plates from aluminum. The plates are machined on a CNC mill and require a lot of machining. The output shaft is a custom made 300M piece that allows us to use a C6 Z06/C6 ZR1 rear differential attached directly to the rear of the transmission case via another adapter. Everything in the drive line is upgraded from the SFI flywheel, SFI bellhousing, upgraded propshaft, Coan converter, RPM built Stage VI 4L80E, RPM built Stage 3 Z06 differential, DSS 300M axle shafts, Quaife differential,DSS 300M half shafts,etc..... I have a similar set-up I'm working on to go into my 1K RWHP Z06 and plan to have similar results. My company is not a supporting vendor here on this forum (we don't build 2004R's) so I won't go into a lot of detail but will say we do a lot of custom work for the corvette guys.

What a way to completely ruin the whole purpose of a corvette, especially a Z06

Thats funny. It will smack the living $hit out of almost anything you will ever see at any street night anywhere in the country and just about any other trailered POS you see at the drags that is occasionally driven on the street. On 93 octane too. That engine is probably 11.5-12:1. Wonder what it would do at 15:1 and slicks?

That was damn impressive. I cant afford the Z06 let alone the cost of that upgrade.

We'll I can certainly see how you think that is funny. Most people lack the skills necessary to drive in anything other than a straight line.

Thus you have folks that purchase a car that is a world beater in handling and braking and you turn it into a drag car instead of hitting open track events.

Your point is?
