first time at the track

Went to US 41 for the first time with my car...it was embarassing. My peg-legged stock tire sized car couldn't hook up for anything. My best pass was 14.4@99.7 with a 2.31 60' time. The car would launch ok around 2lbs. of boost but at about 50mph the tire would go up in smoke. The first time I ran a 14.7 and hazed the tires for almost 150 ft. at mid-track. Looks like Eaton and Mickey Thompson will be getting calls from me!

Congrats to board member Alkyholic on his first trip to the 11's with a blast of 11.8@111.7 on pump gas with a 14# launch! He backed it up with a few more 11.9s, but a broken fuel line put him on the trailer before it got dark, so I'm sure it could have gone faster still.

If you want a cheap first step, buy a air bag, and put it in the RR..It will help, not as much as a posi and slicks but it's a step in the right direction.

Hey buddy it was an 11.87 then backed up by a 11.78. then I broke the earls fitting that holds my fuel pressure gauge on my rail. Just thought I would put my two cents in.

No doubt! My ratty mustang went 7.80 at the local non prepped 1/8 mile track on drag radials last week, which equates to a low 12, and I'm not even close to spinning street tires at 50. Unless I really rev it up and drop the clutch. Probably wouldn't even do it then either. Now, with the bottle on, it may be another story......

his car was spinning at half track. It was nuts. My last run we were side by side and he took off way before me (Had to get the boost up.) and when I caught him half track, the whole back end of his car just went up in tire smoke. It was nuts.

Dont feel too bad.
My first run was a 14.3, with no tire spin. I had Nittos on my car at the time, so it wasnt a problem. Although, the car was near stock at the time. I found out later that my trans just kept slipping everytime I would try to push it. Best I ran that day was a 14.1
You gotta start somewhere, so dont feel bad about it. I was dissappointed my first run out, too, but you get over it.
You will never be fast enough though! You get 13's you will want 12's. You get 12's, you will want 11's......once you start, youre hooked!
