Someone told me last night about a 10.5 second late 80s Mustang Hatchback street car with N/A 302 that is for sale locally by someone they know. I don't doubt the 5.0s but I thought it was highly unlikely that the guy was running mid 10s with just motor in a street car. The guy who was telling me about the car did say the car was gutted with all electric accessories but even with all that weight savings and even a bored and stroked 302, I just can't see it running those kinds of times. What do ya'll think?

Full interior thru tail pipes
With nitrous it's definitely possible. But this one supposedly has no nitrous. Of course you know how things start. By the time I heard about it the story might have been stretched so far out of proportion(what might be a 12 or 13 second car suddenly might have turned into a 10 second car) or either I'm not hearing the full story. I might be an extreme "street" car with very high compression or it could be a stroked 302. Another detail I forgot to mention is the car does not have A/C or a heater but that would only shave a little off.

I'm thinking the car in question is along those lines. What kind of compression did your engine have? Could it run pump gas? From the way the guy was describing the car to me it was a street car but his idea of street car may be different than mine.
