This got you looking :D

New tranny flaring a little on 1-2 and 2-3 setting off my knock detector. TV cable is tight at WOT, fluid is past the full mark. using 700 filter on stock pan. Cant use deep pan with my car :(

Anyways..what pressures should I be looking for at WOT using a 10 vane pump and Alto clutches. AC shift kit. Billet servo, the typicall yada yada yada :)

Thanks guys..bradenton is around the corner..getting it rite.

Flare is about 100-200 rpm. Looks like a little pimple on direct scan. KR goes through the roof when it does it. equally on 1-2 and 2-3.

BTW..what's break-in on a new tranny

PS.. its really at 29 PSI :D

I wold go with a larger TV boost valve and larger 1-2 r boost valve,THese have helped me greatly in reducing flares at higher boost. Also if the trans comes out make sure you have a real good set of priming springs in it,I use the Gil younger high rev with the stock inside spring,Never had a flare running over 30#s of boost

Otto.. I have never heard of the the priming springs.. could you link me to where I can get those.. this is news to me ..

Pretty cool I learned something today :)

Thanks.. i'm dropping it to 20 PSI today and seeing if it doesnt flare, and take it from there.

PS.. might you know what the pressure readings at WOT should be? The TV boost valves were done.

The idea behind the priming springs in he pump is to allow some flotation of the slide i beleive and to relieve it of too much pressure(i think) SO if weak springs are used,THe higher you rev the lower your pressure will be,I beleieve any one of the vendors here can help you with these.

I usually will add a smal flat washer under it also,(but not sure it is recommended) But always worked on trannies i built for people.
