Just took my trans to Eric at Dynotech for a rebuild and asked about getting me a new flex plate too. He said he'd rather see me get a GM one then aftermarket. I stopped at my dealer and he checked. OBSOLETE...
So my question is, NAPA? AutoZone? or whos? I don't need an SFI one.

I'm never gonna finish this car...:(

I have a stock GN flexplate for sale from my 87. Let me know if you're interested. I'm also only about 30 miles north of you so you can just stop by and pick it up. I don't know what it's worth. How 'bout half of what a new one would cost.

I replaced my original cracked stocker with an aftermarket one.
A couple of partners with circle track cars told me that the aftermarket ones at autzone, advance, etc. Are stronger than the stock piece and they have had good luck with em'.

One of the same guys had a early 80's Vette and the stock flexplate cracked on his once he started unleashing some horses from the car and he put in an other than oem one and it has been 20 plus years and still going strong.

If you are in the low 11's or faster I would get a custom piece, Postons has a sweet one, reeaal nice.
Other than that grab one at the local parts store.
