New here, okay so I dug a 84 gn out of a cornfield of 18 years not running. I hauled it in and and done a 86/87 ign, crank sensor, and new cam sensor. I got the car running, it was real weak, but idle and run good. I started a "from the ground up restoration" and am now about 97% complete. First I stripped and gutted the car, sent for new paint, got all new lights, and new interior done all myself except painting. pulled the engine, broke it completly down, had it bored 30 over forged pistons, had heads and crank done, double roller chain, 206 206 cam, tre 42# injectors, and sent the turbo to limit engineering where they "maxed it out". Installed engine, upgraded computer to 86/87, turbo tweek street chip, walbro fuel pump, and fp hot wire kit. Started car "IT RUNS!" but then died. Now it will only start if I hold the gas pedal and is flooding severly. When I start it fuel is comming out of exhaust, had to change oil, fuel in it, I need help guys!

No pressure till it starts, then 40 to 60. I have a new accufab on the way, should have it tomorrow. I also got a new injector harness. Trying

When you turn the key the fuel pump should come on and you should be getting some pressure. When the car is on the fuel pressure should be @ 38 psi with the vacuum line on the regulator.. If the vacuum line is off the regulator it should be 42-43 psi.

I'll put a new relay in it, but while it is running the pressure jumps for 40 to 60 back an forth, with or without vac line. When I let it idle it instantly dies. Shop full of fuel smoke.

Do you have an adjustable regulator? you need to adjust the fuel pressure. What fuel pump do you have?

Yes, accufab with guage. I belive its bad. I saw fuel dripping from around screws on top. The fuel pump is a new assymbly walbro 255 lph.

Ok post back once you have changed it out, also you didnt mention the filter being changed you should change it if you already havent car was parked for awhile dont want junk in your fuel system.

I did change the fuel filter, slipped my mind to mention. After doing injector harness and adj fuel pressure reg maybe that will correct it. Anything else to add, my brain is flooding also don't want to miss anything. I know I have to be close to having an awesome car, just hope I don't lose faith.

There could be a dozen things going on..Take care of that leaking fuel pressure regulator. Get your fuel pressure where it needs to be. Once you get there you can diagnose other things if that dont fix it. You can be proactive and probably change your plugs out if they are wet or are fouled out. Also what MAF are you running if you upgraded to 86/87 ecm you should be running a 86/87 maf sensor as well.

It has the stock 84 maf, I put in an air intake temp sensor. Do I need to change it to an 86/87 maf ?

This should help

no code 41 and voltage is 2.5 to a-11 and it does not vary. installed a new ccci module still no change, put old 84 computer back in no change

So your not getting a check engine light when the car is turned on? You should be getting a code. Can you verify that when you turn the key without starting the car verify your seeing the check engine light blink once then stay on.
