Follow up on a thread from the summer

Not sure if anybody remembers the thread I posted over the summer - girlfriend went to Ireland, came home, and dumped me quite abruptly. Well, here's a little of the fall-out:

She did meet somebody over there and he's moving here permanently in 3 months. Any guesses as to his motives?

She brought back a "present" from Ireland, the kind of gift that keeps on giving, if you know what I mean. To say that I am now scarred for life, well, that just about sums it up.


She now hates me with all of her might as I dug and dug trying to get the information posted above. I got it and it's a good thing, else I wouldn't have thought to go get tested.

WOW - sorry to hear that....I hope you tested negative or at the least, if treatable, you are getting it taken care of.

either way, keep your head up and your spirit strong.

Well, I didn't test negative (hey, is that a double negative?) It is treatable, but up until her, I was so careful and figured that once we started discussing marriage plans just before she left (I had the ring all set to go for her return) the coast was clear, so to speak. I figured that by her age (we're both 29), these fling-type of events would have stopped.

Oh well, a psychologist colleague diagnosed her with some interesting behavioral disorder - she fits the profile. FWIW, she said, this girl will never settle down. Just keep going from long-term to long-term relationship, ending them abruptly when somebody else catches her eye.

If anybody recalls, that's why I was looking for that elevator joke the other day - it's going into a short book I'm in the process of writing (62 pages done so far!)
